Astha Bharati is an NGO aspiring to persue the objectives of national integration and unity. We propose to become a Forum for a free and frank dialogue in respect of various issues faced by the country. We also wish to strive through discussions, to correct historical and social distortions being promoted to stabilise narrow and partisan interests.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF ASTHA BHARATI

The aims and objects for which the society is established are as under :

(i) To undertake, promote and provide for the study of India, its history, society, and culture, keeping in view the Indiacentric social, political and cultural continuum in its fullest geographical spread and time-depth;

(ii) To work towards correcting/righting the distortions and colonial misinterpretations of India's past and present, its traditions, culture, social structure and social institutions, racial interpretations of society, colonial myths of exploitations and hegemony, etc.,

(iii) To work against the negativism and academic consumerism and cultural, academic and literary pollution;

(iv) To promote positivist social activism;

(v) To study the problems related to traditions and development, localism, regionalism, terrorism, parochi alism, etc.;

(vi) To organise seminars, symposia, study circles, workshops;

(vii) To work for promoting harmony between the communities;

(viii) To cooperate with institutions, bodies for purpose of furtherance of its objectives;

(ix) To undertake the publication of journals, research papers and books.

(x) To establish and maintain libraries and information centres.
